Thursday:- What have I been doing since Monday?

Tuesday went as planned - a heavy shopping day! Yesterday started early but slowly with Communion at 0930 - believe me, the Church is cooling down for the winter - must take a coat next time. The afternoon was taken up with PC stuff for various folk so I will spare you the detail.
Today was a BIG day, though I don't suppose that most of you noticed? Yes, it's true, Windows 7 was released on time, and my three copies arrived on schedule, despite the post strike. You really have to hand it to Amazon for meeting deadlines and generally running a tight ship. Unfortunately attempts to install any of the copies have been forestalled by 'stuff'; better luck tomorrow.
On the medical front, it has been suggested that I ask for and obtain a referral to a further oncologist in London who is doing clinical trials; I am very unsure about the wisdom of extending the treatment scope further as there must come a point where enough is enough; I continue to pray about it and to turn it over in my mind.

  3. Thanks for your comments, Danielle and Josh. It's encouraging to have younger support through this ordeal.

Dan, my hair keeps growing in little patches so I suppose I'll be forced in for a haircut one day. There's so little to trim - ask Mum if she still does ninepenny cuts:-)

  4. George,

This is the only way i can quickly get a message to you. As you know your son Alex stood by me as my best man this Friday. In one hour i leave for my honeymoon, but i didnt want to leave without saying a couple of things that maybe Alex wont tell you.

    1. Alex made an awsome speech!
He was so nervous before the speech and was violently shaking throughout, but he held his voice together and pulled off one of the best, best man speeches i have ever heard! Nearly everyone came to me afterwards to congratulate us on our speeches. Each person said how much they had enjoyed them...especially Alexs. There was roaring laughter and sincere tears. You would have loved it.

2.Throughout the day he was a great friend and support. He made sure everyhting went smoothly and was great with everyone despite not really knowing anyone.

As i am sure you have heard, he came to see us in Vietnam....TWICE. We really enjoyed his and Jos company and we had a bloody good laugh.

I will end there because i think it says what i want it to say. You must be very proud of him. This weekend was a testiment to his character, and Kate and I will not forget it.

  5. To my various comment contributors:

1 Dannielle, some folks clearly enjoy reading my blog because of your comments. Would you like to take it over and save me some work?:-)

2 Alex S, thanks for your kind comments on our eldest! I was reflecting today that you and he have known each other for practically all of your lives. Having a loyal friend is one of life's most important possessions and I'm proud that you have stuck by each other - long may it continue. George
